The solution for this Vista problem simple once you find it. I’ve seen several older network controllers that worked in Vista and Win7 using the Windows XP drivers, after pointing Windows to the INF files and having it search for the best driver. I did just exactly what you said and it worked perfect he he I’m just curious how did you come to try that? I tried this and made Vista search drivers again from the DVD, but again it did not find anything.

In reply to Mike Hall After that you can go and check the driver version and it looks like this: The driver will be generic at best and will not enable best performance assuming ttat you get it to work. Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site. I could never get the 3C to work with Vista, let alone Win 7.

In reply to Rebuilda’s post on March 24, You may be able to manually install the driver for XP bit, if one exists. Sorry this didn’t help. I’ve seen several peripherals that were erroneously reported as ‘compatible’ as well as ‘incompatible’ devices that work just fine.
